Campus Grounds Master Plan

Campus Grounds Master Plan

The first campus grounds project that was funded was the commission of a professionally designed comprehensive Grounds Master Plan.

This seven-part plan was developed under the direction of the University administration and approved by the Board of Regents. It is the guiding document for future grounds development and focuses the attention on two centerpiece projects: the bronze statue of Te Ata Thompson Fisher installed in April 2014, and the installation of a major outdoor feature on the north side of campus to be called the Coming Together Park. Gifts totaling $250,000 are needed to complete this phase of the Campus Grounds Master Plan.

At the same time, by concentrating efforts and energy on these two projects, $110,000 less will actually be needed rather than the original estimate of $700,000.

“The recent improvements to campus are bringing the idea of hard work and beauty to life. It's a special time to be here, knowing that these projects will change the face of USAO for generations to come.”

- MAITÈ MILLER, Biology
