Majors  >  Art (Bachelor of Art)

The successful artist needs to develop personal qualities in three important areas: intellectual, philosophical, and technical strength; a liberal arts/”world view” educational background; and self-assured, creative, problem-solving ability.

USAO’s art discipline created its program of studies around these three basic tenets. Our professionally staffed art courses are specifically designed to teach the visual language in a logical sequence of courses.

This program reinforces and broadens a student’s professional education, preparing him or her for a successful career. The emphasis on liberal arts at USAO is an emphasis on communication and the art department is devoted to aesthetic visual communication.

USAO’s art discipline offers a bachelor’s degree of fine art and bachelor’s degree in art, with concentrations in painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, graphic design, computer graphics, photography, and drawing.

Small classes make a difference. As an art major, a student can depend on one-on-one teaching in a atmosphere where students receive individual attention from their professors. Professors know the strengths and weaknesses of each student because they know each student by first name. To learn more about our programs visit the Art Department Webpage.
