Anne Jones Griffin Scholarship

In honor of her daughter’s memory, Jerri Jones established this scholarship for an art, math or music education major at USAO.

Anne was born Oct. 31, 1951. She was the only daughter in a family with five brothers and learned early how to ‘hold her own.’ She graduated from Auburn University in 1973 with degrees in math and art.

She earned her master’s degree in special education from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She taught special education for 25 years and was deeply involved with her students. In spite of her busy schedule, she was a devoted wife and mother. Her husband also was a teacher. Their son Seth graduated from Auburn in 2000.

Anne loved to paint and quilt. She also loved to travel. The scholarship is to honor a beloved daughter who made a difference.
