Mathematics

Mathematics is more than just algebra, geometry and calculus.  It is the primary tool of science, the language of modern technology and the structure of creativity. In the broadest sense, mathematics is the study of patterns, relationships and logical structures. Regardless of the area of mathematics, the common goal is not only to understand the objects under study but to relate them and form connections to other phenomena.

Art (Bachelor of Art)

The successful artist needs to develop personal qualities in three important areas: intellectual, philosophical, and technical strength; a liberal arts/”world view” educational background; and self-assured, creative, problem-solving ability.

USAO’s art discipline created its program of studies around these three basic tenets. Our professionally staffed art courses are specifically designed to teach the visual language in a logical sequence of courses.

Chemistry

Chemistry deals with the study of matter and its interactions. It is a science that is considered the foundation of many other sciences. Chemists study atoms, molecules and the properties of compound substances. They study how they are structured, how they function and how they change energy when combined with other substances. Chemists conduct research in laboratories that has led to advances in food processing, agriculture and medicine.
