Dora Reid Savage, 94, passed into the arms of her heavenly Father on Thursday, October 1, 2009. A memorial celebration of her life will be today at 2 p.m. in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dan Patman officiating. Dora was born in Altus, Oklahoma on December 18, 1914, to David Ogle Reid and Isadora Swendall Reid. She attended college at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She married her childhood sweetheart, Odell Savage in June 1935. They were married 68 years until his death in 2003.
Wood, Dora Graciela de Marchena Dora Graciela de Marchena Wood went peacefully to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 4, 2007. She was born in San Salvador in Central America on December 27, 1918 to Aristedes and Amparo de Marchena.
She came to the United States in July of 1946 with her music teacher and three close friends, Delli, Lucy, and Fina Soto, to study voice and attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. While in college, she was nicknamed 'the Spanish Nightingale' and was able to sing for various events and organizations.
Dolores ôDeeö Bantista Dolores ôDeeö Bantista, 68, of Lake Charles, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, in a local hospital following a battle with Mrs. Bantista was a native of Chase, Kan., and had lived in Lake Charles since 2003. She was a graduate of Pauls Valley High School in Oklahoma and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology at the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha, Okla. She was a flight attendant for Braniff Airlines before beginning her career at Western Farmers Electric Cooperative in Anadarko, Okla.
Dickse Anne Williams Graham was born on December 2, 1930 in Oklahoma City. She died peacefully in her sleep after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Preceded in death by husband Leroy Graham in 2009, mother Fleda Williams, father Dick "Richie" Williams, Aunt Vera "Sis" Green, Aunt Grace Vawter and Uncle Billy Tidwell. She is survived by her sons Bobby Graham, Dr. John Graham and wife Dr.
Dianne Short Heckes Hood Hunter, 64, of Norman, Oklahoma died Wednesday May 13, 2009, at home. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Havenbrook Funeral Home Chapel. Dianne was born August 7, 1944 in Marlow, Oklahoma to Jerry and Mildred Geraldine (Henson) Short. She grew up in the Marlow, Oklahoma, Houston, Texas, and Denver, Colorado areas. She graduated from Ardmore High School in 1962, and attended the Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha.
Funeral services for Derinda Louise Riley Martin, former long time teacher at Pioneer School, will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 6, 2009, in the First Baptist Church. She died on October 1, 2009, at her home in Chickasha after a lengthy battle with cancer. Derinda was born July 22, 1944, in Odessa, Texas, the youngest of four children born to Lucas Owen and Agnes Stella Pierce Riley. She grew up in Odessa and Kermit, Texas, and Farmington, New Mexico, and lived in the Chickasha area most of her adult life.
Graveside services for Delpha Folmer Oglesby, 78, of Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, 2009 at Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Frederick A. Buechner will officiate. Mrs. Oglesby died Nov. 15 at her residence. Born Feb. 14, 1931 in Liberal, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Clemma Hoskinson Folmer. On Oct. 31, 1951, in Liberal, Kan., she married Jamie W. Oglesby of Elberton, with whom she recently celebrated her 58th wedding anniversary. After graduating from high school in Liberal, Kan., she attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla.
Funeral for Della Mae Evers, 86, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Tom Willoughby, associate pastor, First Baptist Church, officiating. Mrs. Evers died Thursday, May 15, 2008, in a local hospital. Burial will be at 3:30 p.m. in Memory Lane Cemetery, Anadarko. She was born Dec. 28, 1921, in Cement, to Samuel Marvin and Ella Mae Taylor Gaddis. She grew up in Anadarko and graduated from high school. She married Doyle Evers on June 27, 1942, in Anadarko. He died on July 9, 1986. She was a beautician.
DEBORAH SUE HALLMARK Deborah Sue Hallmark was born June 30, 1952 in Lawton, Oklahoma to Lavelle (Sims) and Lester Dee Knox. Debbie graduated from Dibble High School in 1970 and from USAO with a Bachelor Degree in Education. Bill Whitehead and Debbie were married on May 3, 1994 in Bell County, Texas. She was a member of the Ninnekah Baptist Church, OEA, and NEA. Debbie taught school for Blanchard High School for 12 years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, scrapbooking, and playing bingo. Debbie passed away June 26, 2007 at 54 years of age.
