Experimental Psychologist Steven Pinker (left) is joined by Dr. Justin Fisher (middle top), Dr. Haj Ross (bottom middle) and Dr. Amy McGovern (bottom left) for a panel discussion during the Emerson-Wier Liberal Arts Symposium April 8 from 2-4 p.m. in the Davis Hall Amphitheater on the USAO campus. Pinker will present an evening lecture at 7:30 p.m. in Te Ata Memorial Auditorium. Both events are free and open to the public. Moderator for the panel is Kelly Brown, director of Nash Library (right top).

A collection of respected researchers and authors will convene on the campus of the University of Science and Arts to discuss the nature and functions of the mind during the Emerson-Wier Liberal Arts Symposium April 8.

USAO Drover Dancers


Who we are:

The USAO Drover Dancers is a fun way to spend your time. It is not a competitive squad but is instead a squad set up for entertaining the crowd and supporting the USAO basketball teams at the home games.
 

How to apply:

Tryouts are held in the early part of the fall trimester.   There is an opportunity to get information about the Drover Dancers during the Annual Ice Cream Social during Welcome Week.

Center peer theater troupe, the Take Back the Night planning committee, and the newsletter committee. Steve believes that sexual violence is not just an issue for women, and it's important for men to work to prevent sexual violence.

Wherever you're going, always remember that your safety comes first. Tell your roommates or friends where you're going and when you'll be back. Use sidewalks and well-lit routes, even if they're a little longer. And be alert and aware of your surroundings. Avoid using your phone or listening to music while you're on the go. It can reduce your awareness and make you an easy target for a crime. Better yet, walk with a friend. If you can't, call Public Safety at 315-443-2224 and they'll send someone to walk with you.
