The Minerva Awards at USAO provide public recognition for outstanding students at USAO, honoring excellence in academics, community service, campus involvement and others areas. They are awarded to students who go above and beyond the ordinary expectations of USAO students, and as we raise our standards as an institution, it becomes all the more important to recognize students who excel.

USAO Students Join Efforts to Help Kids Get Books

Two student organizations are going the extra mile this year to ensure that area children get to enjoy the important gift of books during the holiday season.


The local chapters of the Student National Education Association (SNEA) and Kappa Delta Pi (KPD) are holding a quilt raffle to benefit the Books for Tots organization.

Through community involvement and volunteer efforts, Books for Tots has delivered more than 55,000 new books directly to children as gifts during the last 15 years.

Opinions Needed for Droverstock 2011

Although April 2011 is a long way off, organizers of USAO's day-long music festival 'Droverstock' need student and fan opinions on which bands to feature during the 16th year of the event.

"We want to feature bands that our fans want to hear," said Jeff Eike, president of the USAO Student Government Association. "We need everyone to fill out the online survey."

CHICKASHA — With his last year of eligibility now over, senior Nate Hammons said he enjoyed playing for USAO and helping the team to one of their best seasons in school history this year and the most school wins last year.

Psychology Students Win Three Awards at State Conference

Three of the top four undergraduate poster awards at the 28th Annual Oklahoma Psychological Society Research Conference went to students from one Oklahoma university -- the University of Science and Arts.
