Helen Frances Siewert passed away June 20, 2010. She was born in Verden, Okla. on Oct. 8, 1921 to O.E. and Helen Nuernberger. She graduated from Chickasha High School in 1938 as class valedictorian and was Oklahoma State Girls Tennis Champion in 1939. The following year, she entered Oklahoma College for Women, graduating with honors in 1944. For eight years she worked in Tulsa, Okla. for IBM, training customers in the use of business machines. In 1951 she married C.L.

Horseshoe Road Band Kicks Off Davis-Waldorf Series Sept. 25

Fiddle sensation Kyle Dillingham is bring his Horseshoe Road Band to Chickasha Sept. 25. The band kicks off the 2010-2011 Davis-Waldorf season at 7:30 p.m. in Te Ata Memorial Auditorium on the USAO campus. Tickets are available at the USAO Business Office, 1727 W. Alabama, or by calling 405-574-1213.

With an eclectic musical style ranging from blues to bluegrass and gypsy jazz to western swing, the Horseshoe Road Band kicks off the 10th season of the Davis Waldorf Performing Arts Series Sept. 25.

CHICKASHA-- Services for Dr. Elsie Null, 93, of Chickasha are scheduled Wednesday (May 6) at 1:30 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home.  Dr. Null taught for more than 38 years at this institution, spanning all three legacies -- from the World War II days at the Oklahoma College for Women, through the Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts period, and into the modern University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma era.
