Dr. Ron Anderson will be honored this year as he is inducted into the USAO Alumni Hall of Fame during Alumni Homecoming at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma Nov. 5-7. Entrepreneur David McLaughlin, co-founder of Advance Food, was named by Gov. Brad Henry to the USAO Board of Regents in the spring – giving USAO an ever-widening breadth in leadership, boasts USAO President John Feaver.
Dr. Ken Bohannon,Associate Professor of Music (B.A. Hendrix College; M.M. University of Tennessee; D.M. Indiana University)
Dr. Bohannon teaches Rhetoric and Artistic Expression courses. A baritone, he has sung in both professional and collegiate opera productions including performances with the Chattanooga, Cincinnati, Knoxville, Sarasota and Tulsa Opera companies. His courses in the Music department include private voice, class voice, diction for singers, opera theater, and voice pedagogy.
Students begin their journey through the IDS core by building a firm foundation of skills that include writing, argument, mathematics and computer applications. With those skills in place, students then proceed through an array of courses that progress in a logical sequence from the self to the natural world, to the community and nation, to the world of ideas.
