James (Jim) Marion Hewgley, former Tulsa Mayor and prominent oilman, passed from this world on Tuesday, May 17, 2011, to be with his Lord and his loved ones. Jim was known to possess many talents and interests, and the positive and lasting impact on his family, friends, countless individuals, church, educational institutions, and community are immeasurable, and documenting this could fill many, many pages. Jim was born on November 7, 1916 in Gallatin, TN. His father was an oil field operations manager, and the family moved to Oklahoma with the discovery of oil in the twenties.
George Fredric Maco McAtee Jr., 73, of Blountville, passed away on Friday, (May 20, 2011) in the NHC Healthcare Center in Bristol, Va. He was a native of Worcester, Mass., and a son of the late George Fredric Sr. and Laura Teresa Wilk McAtee. Mr. McAtee was a professor of Speech and Theater Arts, at ETSU, Indiana State, University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, Virginia Intermont, Northeast State and King College. He was employed by Theatre Bristol for a number of years. He was a member of the Naval Reserves before and after his tenure with the U. S. Navy.
Frances Josephine Mainard, 92, of Oklahoma City, passed away April 26, 2011. She was born in Trenton, Tennessee, and moved to Ardmore, Oklahoma, at the age of 5. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She is preceded in death by her parents, Josephine and Henry Hefley; her husband, Millard F. Mainard.
