The cooperating teacher is a certified teacher in an accredited school who has demonstrated an interest in the preparation of teachers and a willingness to have student teachers assigned to him/her. He/she shall have a minimum of three years experience in the teaching profession, with one year in the system. He/she shall be selected by his administration for this responsibility. Mary Rios, a senior deaf education major at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, begins her two-year tenure as the Miss Deaf Oklahoma Ambassador. Rios will go on to compete for the Miss Deaf America at the National Association of the Deaf conference in 2012.
