Funeral service for Mary Jane Eubank, 93, Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011, in the College Heights Baptist Church. Rev. Bryan Haynes will officiate and Rev. Larry Hatfield will assist. Mary Jane Eubank was born May 15, 1918, on a farm near Lindsay, Okla., to Irvin A. and Mary C. (Roberts) Adams. She began her education in a one-room school at Banner, Okla. and later moved with her family to the Colbert School District where she completed the eighth grade. She attended Bradley High School for one year and then graduated from Lindsay High School in 1936.
Funeral service for Kathy Ann Parrott, 57, of Cement, will be held Wednesday July 6, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. in the Full Gospel Church with Sister Alice officiating. She was born September 12, 1953, in Anadarko, Oklahoma the daughter of Jack Dody and Lucynthia Dody. She passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011, in Chickasha. Kathy graduated from Cement High School in 1971 and then attended University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma majoring in vocal. She then spent the next 25 years owning and operating Jacks Fruit Stands in Chickasha and the surrounding area.
When the Class of 1960 decided to celebrate its 50th anniversary year in 2010, members joined together to select a bronze statue as a tribute to favorite faculty members and their own legacy on the OCW campus.
Placed thoughtfully in the garden area between Austin and Troutt halls, the little girl in bronze honors six faculty members including Ruth Gardner Ball, Dr. Sam Evans, Mildred Johnson, Martha Shackleford, Robert Darnes, Sarah Ellis and Dr. Mary Russell.
