In the Saddle — Bryan Byars

CHICKASHA – The Drover men now 9-0 in the Sooner Athletic Conference are feeling pretty good as the regular season winds down with just one conference game to go, starting keeper Bryan Byars said.

“The season’s going really good,” he said. “Everyone had high expectations for the season, and we wanted to go undefeated and we’ve done it.”

On the road in Arkansas, the team clinched their regular season SAC title, which was particularly special for Byars.

Parkinson named Player of the Week

CHICKASHA – Anchoring a back line that had two shutouts and serving as one of USAO’s leading scorers in two conference games earned Scott Parkinson the Sooner Athletic Conference Defensive Player the Week award.

In a 5-0 home win over Rogers State, Parkinson and the back line limited the Hillcats to just two shots on goal in the entire game. Additionally, Parkinson knocked two goals in himself and had an assist in the shutout.

Days later on the road at John Brown, the line held their opponents to just four shots on goal in the 1-0 win.
