Dr. Robert England, professor of political science at Oklahoma State University, returns to his alma mater to be inducted into the USAO Alumni Hall of Fame on Nov. 5. England will be one of three inductees during this year’s Alumni Homecoming. The annual reunion, scheduled from Nov. 4-6, is open to all USAO/OCLA/OCW alumni. Registrations are being accepted at the USAO Alumni Development Office, (405) 574-1290.
A co-author of five books and numerous journal articles, Dr. Robert England has distinguished himself as an educator, political scientist and a developer of fire leadership and management programs.
CHICKASHA – In their last regular season home game, the Drover men came in with a ninth conference win to continue undefeated in the Sooner Athletic Conference with the shutout of Southern Nazarene on Tuesday afternoon.
The Drovers fought a tough battle but spent most of the game on the attack, outshooting their opponents 30-7. USAO, however, had a hard time finding the net until Perry Sansford scored in the 70th minute of the game. Chris Lee had the assist in that play.
CHICKASHA – The Drover women had a tough time against the Southern Nazarene Crimson Storm, who remain undefeated in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
After giving up two quick goals, the Drovers responded with two goals in eight minutes to tie to the game before halftime. Both goals were by Calli Cooper and Taylor Fain earned her 30th career assist on one of those.
Unfortunately for USAO, Southern Nazarene squeaked by another goal to defeat the Drovers 3-2.
The women move to 12-4 overall and 7-3 in conference play.

Chickasha High School’s academic team got a boost in October from USAO when three alums and a current student teamed up to compete in – and win – a “Community Quiz Bowl.”

Described as “always willing to help out with a smile on her face,” Vanessa McNabb received the Regents Staff Achievement Award for the first quarter of the 2011-12 year at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

The USAO Association for Women In Science will hold its 3rd Annual Women In Technology and Science workshop on Saturday, Oct. 29.
Each child attending will need to be registered for the program before Oct. 24. Registration is $10 but scholarships are available to those interested but unable to pay.
