On the heels of a year spent playing Western swing, the USAO Showband is happy to return to its roots – playing a little bit of something for everyone in the audience.
The USAO Showband is scheduled to perform an eclectic collection of American classics at 7:30 on Nov. 18 in Te Ata Memorial Auditorium.
BETHANY – A big win over No. 25 Southern Nazarene sends the Drovers to the Sooner Athletic Conference Finals for the first time in the women’s program’s history.
USAO defeated the Crimson Storm in the SAC Semifinals 2-0.
“I’m so proud and happy for the women,” Coach Jimmy Hampton said. “I give all the credit to them.”
Excited to be in their first Semifinal match and eager to best SNU, who’d beat them in the regular season, the Drovers came out strong, and junior Calli Cooper knocked one in just four minutes into the game. Jordyn Yates had the assist.
CHICKASHA – After a helping lead the back line all season, highlighted with a shutout in the Sooner Athletic Conference Quarterfinals, Gabby Barros was named the SAC’s final Defensive Player of the Week.
The defender has been instrumental all season in helping the Drovers achieve a 13-5 overall record and the program’s first SAC Semifinal appearance after the quarterfinal win on Saturday.
In that game, Barros and the Drovers held Mid-America Christian to just two shots on goal in the 105 minutes of action. The Drovers ended up winning the game in double overtime 1-0.
