Alumni Paul Mays and Bobby Marsee are scheduled to return to the University of Science and Arts on March 2 to speak to students about their art and their careers for the 4th annual Career Lecture Series.

USAO Child Development Center takes applications March 1

Enrollment for the USAO Child Development Center begins March 1 for the fall 2012 trimester. Designed for three- and four-year-olds, the acclaimed program stimulates growth in multiple areas, including social, emotional and intellectual.

Beginning March 1, the University of Science and Arts will begin receiving and processing applications for fall 2012 enrollment in its acclaimed Child Development Center.

Drovers upset No. 10 on Senior Day

CHICKASHA –  The Drover men made a statement on Saturday evening against Top 10 Rogers State to earn a fifth seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference tournament next week.

The Drover men got off to a quick lead on Saturday over the No. 10 Hillcats with jumpers by Phillip Harris and Kyle Hunt and led the entire game.

The Drovers continued to extend their lead and entered halftime up 37-22. In the second half, USAO was up by as much as 27 points before finishing the game 81-63.

Hillcats top women on Senior Day

CHICKASHA — Three Drover women scored in double digits in a tough 78-50 loss to Rogers State to end the season.

Sophomore Paige Pulliam and senior Liberty Payne each had 11 points for the Drovers. Junior Tashina Ototivo scored 10 points and had seven rebounds before getting into foul trouble.

The Drovers end the season 5-24 and 2-20 in the Sooner Athletic Conference.

It was Senior Day and the Drovers honored seasons Liberty Payne, Tabby Bailey, Whitney Null and LaTisha Rogers.

Baseball splits against No. 1 OCU

CHICKASHA – The Drovers split on Saturday afternoon against No. 1 Oklahoma City and gave USAO Coach Mike Ross his 100th career win in the home doubleheader.

After giving up a few early runs, the Drovers scored their first run of the game in the third inning. Second baseman Robert Summers hit a triple deep into center field, and Romus Cezar brought him home in at the next at bat for USAO’s first run of the game.

In the bottom of the fourth, Newt Compton led off with a homer to left center.
