CHICKASHA – The Drovers split on Tuesday afternoon at home against No. 25 Oklahoma Christian after mounting a comeback with seven unanswered runs late in the second game.
In game two, USAO struck first when Brooke McLeod batted in lead off hitter Skyler Nichols in the bottom of the first. The Drovers then gave up seven runs and were down 7-1 entering the bottom of the fourth. And that's when something clicked for USAO.
The Drovers played the remaining three innings without allowing another run and while scoring seven of their own to win it 8-7.
This drawing by Dalton Lather of Altus High School took home the Best of Show honors during the 2011 Montmartre Chalk Art Competition at USAO. The 2012 festival is being held, along with a statewide curriculum contest and the Droverstock all-day music festival on April 5.

Ninnekah native Steve Sanders returns to Oklahoma to play the role of Father Grenville for the Tulsa Opera’s staging of Dead Man Walking. Sanders graduated from USAO in 1998 with a bachelor’s degree in music education.
USAO graduate and Distinguished Young Alumni award winner Steven Sanders will be returning to the state of Oklahoma to sing the role of Father Grenville in the opera Dead Man Walking for the Tulsa Opera on Feb. 25, March 4 and 5.
