Sorrell breaks school record in Tuesday split

CHICKASHA – Sophomore pitcher Neesha Sorrell broke a school record in strikeouts thrown on Tuesday afternoon in a split against Oklahoma Baptist.

Sorrell propelled the Drovers to the win in the ninth inning of game one against the Bison with 16 strikeouts. She allowed just four hits and walked just one batter.

Michelle Bauer previously held the record of 15 strikeouts thrown in a game against Northwestern Iowa in 2007.

Eleven enter biology honor society at USAO

Cervantes named Pitcher of the Week

CHICKASHA – After throwing a complete game shutout against the tough eighth-ranked Oklahoma Baptist, Eddie Cervantes was named the Sooner Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week.

Cervantes pitched all seven innings in the Drovers’ lone 1-0 win against the Bison. He allowed just seven hits while throwing three strikeouts.

It is the first Pitcher of the Week honor for the Drover baseball team this season. Jared Coon was named Player of the Week twice.
