CHICKASHA – Two weeks before classes begin, USAO soccer players stepped foot on campus and have been focusing on fitness and tactical work in daily workouts to prepare for the big opening of the 2012 season.
“The kids have worked very hard for the last 10 or 12 days, and we’ll continue to work hard,” Head Coach Jimmy Hampton said. “The kids are excited to be here and they have a good attitude.”
Hampton said the Drover women looked good in preseason games, partially because the strong leaders who have emerged.

2013: Poolaw battled an injury in the 2013 season, slowing his time a bit. His fastest time of the year was in the NAIA Mid-States Classic in late October. He finished in 32:18.03.
2012: As a true freshman on USAO’s first cross country team after rebirth, Poolaw was one of USAO’s fastest runners. He set a personal record in the final race of the season — the SAC Championship — finishing the 8K in 30:10.
High School: Poolaw was named All-State in 2012 while running for Anadarko High School.
2013: As a sophomore, Park was the Drovers’ fastest runner. Her best race — a personal record — was in the NAIA Mid-States Classic, where she finished her five-kilometer race in 20:57.21, good for second in school history. She has competed in every race for the Drovers both seasons.
2012: Park came out to become one of the Drovers’ top runners as a freshman. She ran her fastest 5K in late October, finishing in 21:38. For that race, she sits at fifth in the USAO records.
High School: At Pauls Valley High School, Trammell helped her team becomes two-time regional champions in track and field and two-time State Qualifiers in cross country. Trammell is set to be the USAO Women’s Basketball Manager as well this season.
