CHICKASHA – Two Drover women set personal records as the Drovers showed improvements on Saturday morning at the 76th Annual Cowboy Jamboree on the campus of Oklahoma State.
Brittni Kent, a junior from Sapulpa, recorded her fastest time with USAO, and in doing so set a new school record for the young program. She cut nearly a minute off her five-kilometer time, finishing in 20:10.99. Kent was 38th of 216 competitors and led the Drovers for the third straight race.
CHICKASHA – Competing in their longest race to date, the Drover men continue to gain valuable experience competing against some top runners at Saturday morning’s 76th Annual Cowboy Jamboree on Oklahoma State’s campus.
At eight kilometers, roughly five miles, the Jamboree was the longest race for the men so far this season. Previously, they competed in 5K and 6K meets. It is also the largest race with more than 200 competitors in USAO’s category.
CHICKASHA – Scoring four unanswered goals in the second half, the Drover men earned their seventh consecutive shutout on Friday afternoon at Drover Pitch.
Taking on Friends University, the Drovers battled the quickness of the Falcons the solid 45 minutes. The teams went into halftime scoreless.
The short break seemed to be all the Drovers needed to kick up the game. Just minutes after the second half, USAO’s lone senior, Kris Andrews, found one of the Drovers’ top scorers Perry Sansford for a goal.
