CHICKASHA – After going undefeated in the regular season, the Drover men found themselves not advancing beyond the SAC Quarterfinals as the fell in penalty kicks to rival Oklahoma City.
The Drovers, who entered the tournament top seed and third in the country, outshot the Stars 28-12 for the game, getting out more than twice as many as the Stars in each period.
With a lot of close calls, the Drovers were unable to hit the net until 61 minutes into the game when Niall Burley found Scott Parkinson for a header off of a corner kick.
CHICKASHA – After 90 minutes of tough battling, the Drover women came out on top in the Friday afternoon Sooner Athletic Conference Quarterfinal game against Lubbock Christian.
Taking on the seventh-seeded Lady Chaps, second-seed USAO saw success late in the game, grabbing two in the second half while giving up just one to win the game 2-1 and continue their season.
CHICKASHA – The Drover men started off the season with a bang, easily running over NCAA Division II Northwestern Oklahoma State 70-42 in USAO’s homecoming game.
Striking first, the Drovers never lost the lead and were up by as much as 26 points by halftime. Staying strong in the second half, the Drovers secured the win.
Leading USAO was senior Brandon Cutler, who went six-for-seven from the field and scored 14 points in the game. Not far behind him was senior Phillip Harris, who had 13 points and six assists.
