Parkinson honored as Scholar-Athlete

CHICKASHA – In his first year of eligibility for the award, USAO junior Scott Parkinson was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete.

He is one of 15 players in the state to be named to the list, which is complete with 315 players nationwide. Players must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 and be at least a junior to qualify.

Parkinson, a physical education junior, has a cumulative GPA of 3.56.

Coggan named NAIA Scholar-Athlete

CHICKASHA – Honored for her scholastic achievement as well and athletic success, USAO senior Erin Coggan was named a Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete on Friday.

She is one of 17 players in the state to be named to the list, which is complete with 492 players nationwide. Players must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 to qualify.

Coggan, an education senior, quickly found a balance between her soccer career and her academic pursuits. The student-athlete has a cumulative GPA of 3.58.



WALTER DAVIDSON Davidson, Jr. Jan 24, 1942 - Nov 16, 2012 UNION CITY Walter Cleveland Davidson, Jr. was born January 24, 1942, in Lindale, Texas, to Walter and Mildred Davidson and went home to be with his heavenly Father on November 16, 2012, at the age of 70. He served in the U.S. Army 1960 - 1963 and married the love of his life, Estella Marie Tenney, on November 17, 1963, in Anadarko, Oklahoma.
