CHICKASHA – The Drovers scored 11 runs to take both games in a Friday afternoon doubleheader against the University of Saint Mary.
The Drovers (8-1) got off to a strong start with Blake McMullen on the mound in game one. McMullen, who earned his third win of the season, threw 10 strikeouts and allowed just three hits. USM’s only run was not earned.
In the bottom of the second with two outs, Blake Pruett tripled to right center to bring home Chance Hill and Konrad Mueller, who had gotten on base with a hit-by-pitch and a walk.
CHICKASHA – The Drover men grabbed a nail biter of a victory on Thursday night at the USAO Fieldhouse, defeating the Oklahoma City Stars 60-57 in the final seconds of the game.
The Drovers (12-7, 5-6) led nearly the entire first half and entered halftime with 33-28 advantage. But the Stars preserved to make it a game, tying it up with nine minutes remaining in regulation, at which point the game began to go back-and-forth.
CHICKASHA – Three Drovers scored in the double figures on Thursday night against the No. 1 Oklahoma City Stars but ultimately couldn’t overcome the powerful offense.
The Drovers (10-13, 1-3) jumped off to a 3-2 lead early on but once the Stars got back in control, they led the remainder of the game and won 104-58. OCU (20-2, 12-0) hasn’t lost a game since November.
Rocio Medrano led the Drovers in scoring with 12 points off four buckets and three free throws.
USAO Drover Difference Day will allow students to volunteer throught the Chickasha Community. Students will reflect on their service experience and provide feedback about what they learned all while helping out the community!
To ensure a t-shirt and transportation to the site all participants must register by Wednesday, February 26th.
USAO Baseball Coach Mike Ross and the Drovers are off to a strong 6-1 start going into the team's home opening series against the University of Saint Mary. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m. Feb. 8. The Drovers will take on Saint Mary the following afternoon as well.
