Alcohol Poisoning

FACTS ABOUT ALCOHOL POISONING

Excessive drinking can be hazardous to everyone's health! It can be particularly stressful if you are the sober one taking care of your drunk roommate, who is vomiting while you are trying to study for an exam.

Some people laugh at the behavior of others who are drunk. Some think it's even funnier when they pass out. But there is nothing funny about the aspiration of vomit leading to asphyxiation or the poisoning of the respiratory center in the brain, both of which can result in death.

ALCOHOL – HOW TO CUT BACK

Small changes can make a big difference in reducing your chances of having alcohol-related problems. Here are some strategies to try. Check off some to try the first week, and add some others the next.

Keeping Track
Keep track of how much you drink. Find a way that works for you, such as a 3x5” card in your wallet, check marks on a kitchen calendar, or a personal digital assistant. If you make note of each drink before you drink it, this will help you slow down when needed.

CHICKASHA – The Drover softball players expected a smooth transition as the season began, but a few injuries later, the team was just trying to stay healthy enough to continue to season.

Ending at 26-26, assistant coach Ken Richardson said he was proud of the way the players continued to fight, work hard and endure a less-than-ideal season.

“Right off the bat, we lose a player. Then we started in a spring and lose another one in a key spot for us,” Richardson said. “But we survived. I’m proud of the girls, and they did a good job.”

Addictive Relationships

Addictive Relationships

It is often very hard to end a love relationship even when you know it is bad for you. A “bad” relationship is not the kind that is going through the usual periods of disagreement and disenchantment that are inevitable when two separate people come together. A bad relationship is one that involves continual frustration; the relationship seems to have potential but that potential is always just out of reach.
