CHICKASHA – Despite a last-second attempt, the No. 18 Drovers fell to (RV) Bethel (Tenn.) in the Tourbeau Sports Group National Game of the Week on Sunday afternoon at Drover Pitch.

A last-second equalizer by the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma was called after the time had run out, and the Drovers (3-3) fell 2-1.

USAO outshot the Wildcats 11-3 in the first half, but the battle remained scoreless until the 70th minute when Scott Parkinson headed a corner kick, delivered by Niall Burley, into Bethel’s goal.

CHICKASHA – A hat trick by a Bethel (Tenn.) Wildcat proved to be the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma’s undoing in the Sunday afternoon game at Drover Pitch.

Even though the Drovers (1-5) struck first — and last — a hat trick by Jaylene Tye secured Bethel’s 3-2 victory on Sunday.

USAO’s Linda Addo was the first on the board, netting a goal off an assist by Jade Ovendale 17 minutes into the game.

The Drovers gave up the equalizer before halftime and allowed two more to sneak in in the second half.

CHICKASHA – A hat trick by midfielder Liam Madden secured the 4-1 victory for the No. 18 University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in a Saturday afternoon game against McPherson College.

The Drovers (3-2) got on the board quickly, scoring just three minutes after kick off. Jean Gnapi found Perry Sansford, who knocked one in past Bulldog goalkeeper Taylor Parrott.

Both teams had shots in the first half, but both had trouble finding the goal. With just 20 seconds left before halftime, the Bulldogs scored the equalizer.

CHICKASHA – The Drover women secured their first win of the season without a second thought — overcoming the McPherson College Bulldogs 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.

The University of Science and Arts Of Oklahoma started the season slow, but the Drovers (1-4) were eager to get on the board in Saturday’s game. Less than 20 minutes into the game, Megan Kettlewell and Jade Ovendale scored back-to-back goals to give the Drovers the 2-0 lead. Linda Addo assisted both goals.

CHICKASHA – While it may look like the men’s soccer team at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is having a rebuilding year, sophomore midfield Liam Madden says it’s just a matter of gelling and refining through hard work.

“We look to improve and just get better each game as we go along,” he said. “We’ve been doing a lot of fitness work, keeping up our general training, our technical work, and just getting the freshmen adjusted to how the Drovers usually work.”
