USAO to host Game of the Week, broadcast crew

CHICKASHA – The Drovers won’t just host a quality soccer program this Sunday in Chickasha — the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma will host the Game of the Week and a national broadcasting crew.

The (18) Drover men will take on Bethel (Tenn.), a prominent program that is receiving votes nationally. Kick off is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST on Sept. 15 in Chickasha.

Hat Trick leads Drovers to victory

CHICKASHA – Perry Sansford came into the game looking for goal no. 1 of the season, and ended up getting the Drovers first hat trick of the season in a 7-0 shutout of Friends University on Tuesday night.

The Drovers, came out swinging and lit up the scoreboard against the Falcons, earning their second clean sheet.

Drovers (2-2) totaled 24 shots, while the defense held their own, only allowing six shots the entire game.

CHICKASHA – The Drover women soccer team looked to be heading to their third overtime game of the year when a goal by Friends University sealed the victory for the Falcons in the Tuesday night game.

Falcon Meagen Beals, who had three shots on the game, with two being saved by USAO goalkeeper Addie Lee, scored the game-winning goal.

The Drovers (0-4) had the advantage all night with the shot count, but ultimately fell off a set piece that went over the head of the goalkeeper. The leader for USAO in shots was junior Jade Ovendale, who had seven of the 16 Drover shots.

The Student Government Association Budget is based on a formula which allocates a certain portion of Student Activity Fees to this organization and the Student Activities Board. Cross Country sets goals for 2013

CHICKASHA – In just its second season, the cross country team at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is looking to continue to improve and build on last year’s performance.

“One of the biggest goals is just to be better than we were last year. We are still trying to build, and we are still trying to get strong runners in so we can really begin competing,” said Leandra Johnson, men’s and women’s cross country head coach. “We are looking for improve from last year.”

The Drovers began their season at the UCO Land Run on Sept. 7.
