CHICKASHA – Mid-America Christian’s strong shooting led to a Drover defeat in Thursday night’s game.
The Evangels (12-8, 6-5) topped the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (3-10, 2-8) with a final score of 86-60.
The Drovers kept the game close for the first 20 minutes and entered halftime trailing by just one. But the Evangels went on a 20-point run to start the second half and had the game in their control from then on, shooting 50 percent from the field in the final 20 minutes.
CHICKASHA – Chickasha may have received snow this week, but the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is gearing up for another season of Drover baseball.
“(The season) looks pretty good if the sun will come out and melt all the snow. We got a couple warm days last weekend, and we were able to get outside and practice a little bit,” Head Coach Mike Ross said. “You’ve just got to pick you days and take advantage of the warm weather when you can get it.”
CHICKASHA – As Head Coach Mike Ross enters his sixth year at the helm of the baseball program at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, he says the main thing he looks for in his team is the same every year.
“I’m expecting them to go out and play hard and compete every day, and we will see where we end up,” he said. “My goal is at the end of the year is to have a chance to play for a championship, and you’ve just got to make the national tournament to do that because anything can happen when you’re in the post season.”
