Drovers get swept in doubleheader

CEDAR HILL, Texas – It was a tough doubleheader for the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (10-16, 2-9) as No. 13 Northwood University swept the Drovers on Friday afternoon in Cedar Hill, Texas.

The Knights took the 7-2 win in the first game and took the 8-7 win after 10 innings of play in the second game of the afternoon.

Drovers take two from Baker

CHICKASHA – The Drovers left the field on Thursday with two wins over non-conference foe Baker University after a strong performance at the plate.

The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (18-12) came from behind to win the first game 5-4 and then run-ruled the Wildcats (10-10) with a 9-1 final in six innings of the second game.

CHICKASHA– The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (16-12) dropped a two game series against NCAA Division II opponent Cameron University on Tuesday afternoon in Lawton.

The Drovers only grabbed five hits in the doubleheader, including four in the first game to give the Aggies (17-9) the series win.

The only hit on game two came from Kayla Adams, who singled to begin the top of the fifth with a runner on base.

Drovers fall in late rally

CHICKASHA– The ninth inning was the difference maker as the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma fell in the bottom of the ninth Tuesday on the road at Friends University.

The Falcons (18-8) scored three runs on the Drovers (10-14) in the ninth inning to grab the 7-6 win after USAO had maintained the lead for the entire game.

The Drovers scored in five of the nine innings, including a two-run sixth.

Rafael Peña went 2-for-5 on the day and drove in two runs to add to his season total of 24 RBI, which leads the team in that category.

Drovers mercy rule No. 20 Rams

CHICKASHA – In one of the highest scoring games to take place at Bill Smith Ballpark, the Drovers run-ruled No. 20 Texas Wesleyan in seven innings to take the series against the Rams on Monday afternoon.

The game saw a combined 30 runs cross the plate, and the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (10-13, 2-7) had a season-high 17 hits on the way to a 20-10 victory over TWU (13-11, 6-3).

The teams split in the Friday afternoon doubleheader at Bill Smith Ballpark.

CHICKASHA – The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma split in a Friday afternoon home doubleheader against No. 20 Texas Wesleyan, ending the day on a walk-off single by Drover catcher Owen Adams.

The Drovers (9-13, 1-7) secured their much-needed Sooner Athletic Conference win and look to take the series in the final game against the Rams (13-10, 6-2), which is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Monday at Bill Smith Ballpark.
