Drover defense comes up big for 2-0 victory

CHICKASHA– In the third game of the season, the defense got their first true test with the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (3-0) grabbing the 2-0 victory over Kansas Wesleyan (0-1).

Senior Goalkeeper Addie Lee was busy as she grabbed nine saves on 17 shots faced to grab her first shutout of the season. The Drover fell behind in the shot count from the get go but it only took one shot to get on the scoreboard.

Drovers fought tough but fall in overtime

CHICKASHA–It took 94 minutes to finish the game, but in a tough hard fought battle the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (1-1) fall to Kansas Wesleyan (1-0) with a final of 2-1.

The offensive effort for either team didn’t start until the second half of action with Kansas Wesleyan scoring first just four minutes into the half.

The equalizer would come in the form of Kyle Maxwell who got his first goal of the season in minute No. 55, and from there the defense picked up to make sure the game was sent to overtime.

Drover men’s offense gets first win of season

CHICKASHA–A big day on the offense helps the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (1-0) grab the 2-0 shutout of Bethany College (0-1).

The Drovers had 27 shots compared to the Swedes’ lone first-half shot.

The first goal came from USAO newcomer Colin Kanwischer, who headed the ball in from a direct pass from Jean Gnapi to take the 1-0 lead.

The next goal came with 19 seconds left in the first half as Luka Rasovic grabbed the goal off a bomb from 25 yards out for the final goal of the evening.

Last-second goal brings a win for Drovers

CHICKASHA– On the brink of the first overtime game of the season, Linda Addo scored a goal from Jade Ovendale with one tick on the clock to grab the last-second victory.

The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (2-0) didn’t let an early goal by the Swedes get to them but instead they turned up the heat on Bethany College (0-1) defense.

Addo’s game-winner was her first goal of the season, adding to her career total of 27 goals in her third season with the Drovers.

Quick start leads to opening game victory

CHICKASHA– In the opening game of the 2014 season, the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma (1-0) came out on a scoring frenzy to get the 5-1 win on the road at Bacone College (0-2).

Reigning Sooner Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Year Jade Ovendale was the offensive threat for the Drovers as she grabbed three goals and one assist to help secure the victory. It was Ovendale’s third hat trick at USAO.

USAO got on the board first when Ovendale put the ball in the net from a pass by Shannon Greenway to get a 1-0 lead.

Hall named USAO men’s basketball coach

CHICKASHA – NCAA Division I coach, Doug Hall, is set to begin his first season with the Drovers as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.

“I’d like to thank the administration for having the confidence in me and the opportunity to lead the basketball program,” Hall said. “I feel like my background as a head coach at a similar school makes it a good fit.”
