Three graduating art students will show off the fruits of their artistic labors in a fall senior BFA show titled Curious 3.
An opening reception is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. on Nov. 3 in the 3rd Floor Art Gallery in Davis Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
“Montmartre Cafe” highlights photographer Charles Rushton’s eye for the artistic in casual moments. Rushton’s work will be exhibited at the USAO Art Gallery from Jan. 13 until Feb. 10 in a show titled En Passant. For more information, call 574-1374.
Charles Rushton doesn’t rely on elaborate staging to create his photographs.
“Life is generous; I can find interesting photographs anywhere. And that is my main concern in photographing, to make interesting photographs,” Rushton says.
“Tools of the Trade” won Best of Show during 2011’s Innovation art competition. The photograph was the work of Alexis Allen of Alva High School. Registration for this year's competition is open to all Oklahoma high school junior and senior artists.
Cash prizes, public exhibition and multiple awards are up for grabs to the winners of this year’s Innovations art competition at the University of Science and Arts. Registration for high school artists is Feb. 22.
