Bio: 
Dr. James Finck has been a member of the USAO faculty since 2011. He is an assistant professor of history.  Finck teaches the American History courses at USAO, but his specialty is the Civil War and Political History.
 
Before joining USAO, Finck was a lecturer at the University of Texas-Pan American for four years. He’s also served as an adjunct professor at Northwestern Arkansas Community College and a master lecturer at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
 
Finck has authored several publications and papers and has received the Kentucky Historical Society Research Fellowship, the Gordon G. McNeil Paper Award, the Roop Fellowship and the Laurie Atkinson Scholarship.  Among his publications are Divided Loyalties: Kentucky's Struggle with Armed Neutrality During the Civil War; Chickasha; and "The Unwaged War: the 1857 War Against the Mormons".
 
Finck is also the co-founder and co-chair of the Summer History Symposium.  The Symposium was meant to bring important historians to the campus of USAO for the benefit of the students and the community.  It was also meant to excite high school students to learn more about history.  As part of the Symposium high school students can apply for a scholarship to spend the evening on campus to hear the speakers as well as spend the night on campus and have a special breakfast the the featured speaker.  Students interested in applying for the scholarship can apply at usao.edu/summer-history-symposium/history-symposium-scholarship.
 
He is a member of the Society of Civil War Historians, Phi Alpha Theta and The Southern Historical Association.

Dr. James Vaughn has been a member of the USAO faculty since 2011 and is an assistant professor of psychology.
 
Before taking the position at USAO, Vaughn had been an adjunct instructor at Langston University Oklahoma City campus and a graduate instructor at Oklahoma State University.
 
He is a member of Oklahoma Psychological Society, the Association for Psychological Science, the Society for the Teaching of Psychology and several other professional organizations.
