Biology and Associated Sciences Club (BASC)
Biology and Associated Sciences Club (BASC) is an organization at USAO with the purpose of increasing the science based knowledge of students and the surrounding community. This is accomplished through informative trips, lab demonstrations, guest speakers and presentations.
Recent examples include visiting the Museum of Osteology, making slime for kids, the Arthropod Presentation at the Wichita Wildlife Refuge, and science trivia at the basketball games.
This groups performs many outreach projects to the local community and the area surrounding Chickasha. It also hosts speakers on various career paths in the science arena and is based on the interests of the current member so the club. At least one time a semester, we try to take advantage of local venues such as the Zoo, the Botanical Garden, Noble Science Museum and others to visit and share science with other students on campus. This group is open to anyone that is interested in science and science outreach.
