Since 1989 the Montmartre Chalk Art Contest has been a tradition at USAO. This year, alumni are invited to return to view the art after the chalk dust has cleared during Montmartre After 5.
Montmartre After 5 is scheduled on Thursday, April 3 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Stevens Alumni House. The sandwich meal is free. Alumni and guests planning to attend are asked to RSVP at 405-574-1290 or at firstname.lastname@example.org. Participants also can RSVP by text at 405-418-6252 (include your name and the number of guests).
"Alumni artists who are participating in the competition are invited to the Alumni House to rest until the evening event. In fact, if they bring their own supplies (including a towel), they can shower and clean up after a long day of art creation," said Eric Feuerborn, director of alumni development at USAO. "Many people view the art after 5 because of work schedules and because the crowd is much smaller. This event gives alumni a chance to visit with each other while viewing the art before the spring rains take it away."
In addition to the chalk art, the Droverstock music festival will feature four bands after 5 p.m. For a complete list of Droverstock bands, click here.
Participants also will receive an update on the many projects around the USAO campus. “We are excited about all the good things that are happening at USAO. Our alumni are playing a very big role in that progress," Feuerborn said.
