Join Drovers Against Cancer as they host the annual Relay for Life at USAO!
There will be a carnival open to the public from 5 pm through 6:55 pm on the Oval with events like Blackout Bingo, Cake Walk and other fun activities for families. There will be a vendor fair with approximately 15 or so booths displaying goods. Also each team participating is having fund-raising events - hotdog sale, raffles and the Drovers Against Cancer team serving a pancake breakfast at 12 pm.
Survivor and caregiver ceremony and Kick-Off lap will be at 7 pm. Luminaria ceremony will take place at 10 pm followed with the Fight Bake Ceremony at 11 pm. Other activities like a Prince and Princess competition and a Drag queen contest will also raise money for Relay Teams. If the goal of $84,000 is met by midnight, Kaci Underwood, team member and Head of the Oklahoma American Cancer Society will shave her head to honor her mother-in-law who is fighting cancer and Dr Loutsch will get her hair cut really short at the same time.
If the Drovers Against Cancer reaches the goal of $10,000, she will shave her head completely bald during the fall semester Cancer Awareness Week. She would do the night of Relay but has a wedding the following week. The website to make a donation is:
Luminaria to honor survivors and to remember loved ones are available for $5 as well. We also have Luminaria for care givers and for cancer surviving and in memory of loved pets.
