3rd annual Ableson Religious Reconciliation Lecture, Hind Kabawat, Syrian Peace Activist

Hind Aboud Kabawat, a Syrian peace activist who has led a variety of public diplomacy efforts in recent years in Syria, will present: “The Tragedy of the Syrian People: Is There a Hope for Reconciliation?” at USAO on Monday, Jan. 26. Hind is a senior program officer in United States Institutes of Peace; senior research associate in Public Diplomacy; and director of the conflict resolution program of Syria at the center for World Religions, Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution.

Neil Gaiman is a writer whose body of work includes award-winning comics, graphic novels, short fiction, novels and screenplays. Gaiman got his start in journalism but found his first successes writing comics including his most-celebrated work on The Sandman. Gaiman’s career as a novelist took off with American Gods (2000), which won numerous awards including a Hugo for Best Novel. His follow-up book, Anansi Boys (2005) debuted at #1 on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Droverstock takes place in the oval, the heart of USAO. Droverstock is a free event for USAO students.
