Festival of Arts & Ideas

In conjunction with the Africa Symposium (listed elsewhere on the calendar), the USAO Music and Drama Departments present the next Festival of Arts & Ideas, our imaginative series that delivers USAO's unique interdisciplinary approach to featured themes. Our festival event includes two concert-plus-ideas events.

At 7:30 p.m. on March 4, in the USAO Student Center Ballroom, we feature Native African music, either by Native African composers or in Native folk styles.

At 7:30 p.m. on March 5, also in the ballroom, the second event is Africa's influence on American music, such as jazz, ragtime, soul, blues and more.
