USAO email account phishing scam:
* originally posted on April 16th, 2008 *

Below you will see a copy of an email that is circulating through some faculty, staff, student and alumni USAO email accounts. Please do NOT respond to it - just delete it! It is not coming from anyone at USAO or from USAO's Internet Service Provider (i.e. OneNet), and it is being used to try to get your email password so they can hijack your USAO email account. One way to tell this is the Reply-To: address - in the email below, the Reply-To address shows to be a Yahoo email address from the UK!

NOTE:
* Any phishing email that use a Yahoo email account can be officially reported to Yahoo for investigation, by forwarding the email tophishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com
* For more information and details about reporting abuse of Yahoo services, please visit: https://help.yahoo.com/kb/index?page=topics&y=PROD_ACCT&locale=en_US&topics=TOP_ABS

Please be careful and NEVER send your password to anyone!
