Graveside service for Larry D. Boyd, 62, Sulphur, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Faxon Cemetery, Faxon, with Kenny Palmer officiating. Larry passed away Saturday, March 10, 2012, in Sulphur. Arrangements are by Hales Krien Funeral Home. Larry was born May 14, 1949, to George I. and Thelma Pierce Boyd, in Grandfield. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps Infantry during the Vietnam War, where he was wounded in action on Jan. 13, 1968. Larry later retired from the military. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from U.S.A.O.
Elsie Marie Fletcher Mason Funeral for Elsie Marie Fletcher Mason, 73, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Roger Alford, the Rev. Leodis Strong and the Rev. Ruth Holmes officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at Fort Sill Post Cemetery, where she will join her late husband, Willie Mason. She died Monday, March 12, 2012, in Lawton. Elsie Marie Fletcher was born Nov. 14, 1938, in Chickasha, to Theodore and Gertrude Glasker Fletcher. She attended Lincoln School in Chickasha and graduated as salutatorian of her class in May 1956.
Irma Lee Caldwell Irma Lee Caldwell peacefully entered her eternal home on Sunday March 4th at Good Life Senior Care Center. She was born February 8, 1926 in Washington, Kansas. She graduated from high school in Shawnee, Oklahoma and earned a Bachelor's Degree at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma and a Master's Degree at ENMU in Portales. On October 25, 1946 she married Hoyt Caldwell at Purcell, Ok. Irma Lee shared her musical talents in a forty-year teaching career, most of which was at the Lovington Public Schools.
Greta Elizabeth (Carter) Blanton passed away peacefully Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Texas-Health Presbyterian-Wilson N. Jones Hospital, Sherman, Texas. Services will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church in El Reno, Okla. on Thursday, March 8, 2012 at 10 a.m. Mrs. Blanton was born in El Reno, November 5, 1920 to Joseph Leroy Carter and Viola Elizabeth (Hayner) Carter. She graduated from El Reno High School in 1937, attended the Oklahoma College for Women from 1937-39 and then graduated from the University of Oklahoma in the Class of 1942. As a brilliant scholar, Mrs.
Mrs. Dorothy Sue (Hatch) Gribble passed away on Feb. 29, 2012, in Oklahoma City at 94 years old. She was born in Eldorado on Jan. 26, 1918, to Frank Alpheus (F.A.) and Theresa Welch (Wood) Hatch. She graduated from Eldorado High School in 1935. Following high school, she attended what was at that time the Oklahoma College for Women (now USAO) in Chickasha. She graduated in 1939 with degree in mathematics and teaching. Dorothy Sue married Fred Gribble at her parents home in Eldorado on Dec. 24, 1939. They lived in Eldorado until Fred entered the service during World War II.
Funeral for Ernie B. Stormer, Texas City, Texas, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Union Baptist Church, 1601 S.W. Dr. Charles Whitlow Dr., Lawton, with Dr. Charles Whitlow officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lawton, under direction of Serenity Funerals, Fort Worth, Texas. Ernie, a retired United States Postal Worker, transitioned from life to eternity on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, in Texas City, Texas. Ernie enlisted in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and toured the world.
Rush Springs: Phillip Steve Frick, 59, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at his home in Rush Springs. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs. Steve was born Wednesday, May 7, 1952 in Chickasha, to Walter Frick and Bertha (Bentley) Frick. Steve lived in the Rush Springs area all of his life. He graduated from Rush Springs High School and later attended USAO in Chickasha.
Helen Hawkins, 61, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012. Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Tuesday in Brown, Owens & Brumley's Joe B. Brown Memorial Chapel. Helen was born June 2, 1950, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to the late Walter and Zona Whitlock. She was raised in Purcell and later met her husband, Bill, while attending the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. In 1977 they moved to Fort Worth and made it their home. Helen was a manager of medical records at Downtown Health and Rehab for 14 years and prior to that worked in the insurance industry.

Burial will be at the columbarium at the Church under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. Betty Jean Mahaffay passed away Sunday evening, Feb. 12, 2012, with her precious daughter by her side. Betty was born Aug. 30, 1922, in Lawton, to Lola Coats and Julius Alva Ludrick. She graduated from Lawton High School and received her bachelors degree from the University of Science and Arts in Chickasha.
Funeral services will be held for Alfred David Hurley, 65, of Chickasha at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, in the First Church of the Nazarene, Chickasha, with Keith Morgan officiating and Kent Hibbard assisting. Alfred David Hurley was born on Oct. 31, 1946, in Caddo County to Alfred J. and Bertha (Orum) Hurley. He died on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at home in Chickasha. David grew up in California, in the Fresno area, where he graduated from Roosevelt High School. After high school, he attended Fresno City College (now Fresno State).
