Ruth Fielden, 98, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 in Norman. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Christian Church in Norman with interment following at I.O.O.F in Norman. Ruth was born April 8, 1914 to Maggie (McGinn) and Mitchell B. Meek in Ft. Cobb, Okla. Ruth grew up on the family dairy farm in Ft. Cobb and earned her teaching certificate at Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha. She began her teaching career in rural Oklahoma in a one-room schoolhouse where she taught grades one through twelve. She married Robert E “Bob” Fielden on Dec. 30, 1938.

Born to Mary Nina (Owens) and Leland Scrogin in Wichita, Kan., you were one of six growing up with love, laughter and music. Your homes were in Wichita and Pratt, Kan. Latter Red Craggs near the Garden of the Gods and in Colorado Springs near the Broadmore. Your husband of 72 years Roy Martin, son Robert Leland, parents and siblings have predeceased you.

Memorial service for Jean Davis, 90, Lawton, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Davis died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at her home. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home. Jean was born Sept. 6, 1922, in McAlester, to Eugene and Maltie Selby Farmer. She graduated from McAlester High School and then attended the Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha. She also attended Hershey's Business School. She worked for the War Department during World War II. She married retired Col. Paul W.

Funeral service for Kay Lynn Hood will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, with Pastor Aaron Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home, Alva. Kay Lynn Hood, daughter of the late William Alfred and Margaret Luella (Miller) Cook, was born Dec. 22, 1942, in Alva, Okla., and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, in Alva, Okla., at the age of 70 years and 23 days. Kay attended the Lutheran School in Alva and graduated from Alva High School with the Class of 1960.

Phyliss Joann Duke was born September 19, 1953 in Sherman, Texas to Joel Estelle and Bobby Clayton Bonser. She passed away February 2, 2013 at Anadarko, Oklahoma at the age of 59 years, 4 months and 13 days. Phyliss, the child of military parents, grew up in several states including Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Oregon and Alaska. She graduated from high school in Fairbanks, Alaska in 1971 and obtained her Bachelor Degree in Speech Therapy from USAO and later earned her Masters Degree in Psychometry from SWOSU.

Our beloved Justena Brown departed this life Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013, in a local care center. She was 91 years old. Family visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel. James Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in Fairlawn Cemetery in Chickasha, Okla. Justena was born July 7, 1921, in Alex, Okla., to Perry Bassett and Hazel Burrows Bassett. She was the second of seven children. She grew up on a farm near Tuttle, Okla.

Lauretta Burton Reynolds was born to William Lafayette and Vela Ina Lewis Burton on March 10, 1924, in Temple, and departed this life Jan. 26, 2013, in Duncan, at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 16 days. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Callaway-Smith-Cobb Funeral Home. Private family graveside service will be at 9 a.m. Feb. 9, at the Walters Cemetery. Memorial services for both family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at First Baptist Church Chapel, Marlow, with Dr.

Funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Sams Hopkins, 94, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2013 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Hopkins was born August 31, 1918 in Wewoka, Oklahoma the daughter of Vernett E. and Lora (Crawford) Sams. She died January 29, 2013 at her home in Chickasha. She graduated from OCW in 1939. Mary and Elwood Hopkins were married December 20, 1944. She was secretary for Chickasha Cotton Oil Company.

Mary Lou Peterson, 96, Wataga, died at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center. She was born Oct. 3, 1916, in Elmer, Okla., the daughter of James D. and Miriam Walk Yeldell. She married Virgil "Pete" Peterson on Feb. 3, 1944, at Ft. George E. Mead in Laurel, Md. He preceded her in death January 12, 2001. She is survived by a son, James "Chooch" (and Linda) Peterson of Wataga; three grandchildren, Rodney (and Michelle) Smith of Calif., Kim (and Joe) Alaniz of Galesburg, and Tony (and Emily) Salazar of Rio; and three great-grandchildren.

Ann Linda McKenzie is at peace with our Heavenly Father, joining Him on January 31, 2013 at the age of 65. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 6, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Chickasha with the Rev. Michael Butler and Rev. Johnny Tims officiating. Interment will be at the Greenhill Cemetery of Lindsay, OK. The service is under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home of Chickasha, OK. Ann Linda Lohner was born on May 22, 1947 to Don and Amy Lohner in Chickasha, Oklahoma.
