WALTERS - Funeral for Ruth Aline Hoodenpyle, 98, Walters, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, with the Rev. Mike Bernhardt officiating. Mrs. Hoodenpyle died Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, in Walters. Burial will be at Walters Cemetery.

Irma Rae Holcomb Graveside service for Irma Rae Holcomb, age 85, of Chickasha, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2004, at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. Don Horton will officiate. Irma Rae Holcomb was born the daughter of John Ingels Lumley and Irpel Curtis Lumley on February 28, 1919, in Hennessey, Oklahoma. She died on September 4, 2004, in Chickasha.

The college family mourns the death this week of longtime Chickasha educator Malcolm Hilburn, husband of Malyne Hilburn, who chairs the University of Science and Arts Board of Regents.

Malcolm Hilburn passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2005, at the age of 83. Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, at the First Baptist Church of Chickasha, 324 W. Colorado, under the direction of Brown-Christian Funeral Home.

James Albert Higgs was born in Sasakawa, Oklahoma to Rev. Charles Allen Higgs and Flora Mae Higgs on December 31, 1934. A graduate of Sasakawa High School, "Albert" as he was known in his youth, lived with his sisters and brothers on ""Higgs Hill"" just outside of Sasakawa and joined the United States Air Force upon graduation. James Albert Higgs was the son of a Baptist preacher/teacher/store keeper. He was a Christian who made a public profession of his faith and was baptized into the membership of Hudson Avenue Baptist Church, Oklahoma City.

Funeral for Mary Ellen Hicks, 87, of Enid, Okla., will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. David Wiggs will officiate. Burial will be 3 p.m. at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Watonga. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. She was born Feb. 15, 1917, in Stroud to Walter and Clara Fulkerson Gammon and died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at Fairview Fellowship Home. At an early age, her family moved to a farm northwest of Watonga. She attended Centralia Grade School and graduated from Watonga High School.

Jean French Herd, longtime Durant resident, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on Dec. 15, 2004, at the age of 83. Throughout her life she touched and enriched many lives and will be loved forever by her friends and family.
She was born Dec. 29, 1920, to Lester Monroe and Doraidelle (Fuller) French in Durant. She was a graduate of Durant High School and Southeastern Oklahoma State University. She also attended Oklahoma College for Women at Chickasha. Jean and John Boyd Herd Jr. were united in marriage at First Methodist Church of Durant on May 3, 1942.

Funeral services for Frank L. Henson, 50, of Chickasha, will be held Saturday, January 22, 2005, at 10:30a.m., in the Full Gospel Church with Terry Jones and Sister Alice Wendling officiating.

Frank L. Henson was born March 19, 1954 in Hillsburg, California, the son of Loyd Henson and Juanita Akins Henson. He died Wednesday January 19, 2005 in Oklahoma City.

Frank was a resident of Chickasha most of his life. He was employed for the State of Oklahoma for many years, and he worked at U.S.A.O. as a janitor.

Funeral services for Eugenia Louise Henry, 42, of Chickasha, were held Monday, April 26, 2003 at the First Church of the Nazarene.
Eugenia Louise Henry was born August 26, 1959, in Chickasha, the daughter of Douglas Eugene Henry and Camilia (Turnbow) Jones, and died April 20, 2003 in Oklahoma City as results of injuries she sustained in an auto accident.
Eugenia lived in Chickasha all her life. She was currently working with food service at USAO cafeteria.

Dorothy ('Dody') Drake Henderson, 89, of Bartlesville, Okla., died peacefully early Wednesday morning, September 16, 2004, at Silver Lake Care Center. A memorial service is scheduled for 3:30 p.m., Monday, September 20, 2004, in the sanctuary of the First Presbyterian Church of Bartlesville. Rev. Andy Odom, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, and Rev. Bob Bogue will officiate. Private family committal rites will be held in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of the Neekamp-Luginbuel Funeral Home.

The funeral for Marian Jean Broome Harris, 86, of Enid will be 11 a.m. Dec. 18, 2004, at Central Christian Church in Enid, Okla. The Rev. John McLemore will officiate. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. She was born May 12, 1918, in Pawhuska to Lloyd W. and Gladys Holmes Benear Broome and died Monday, Dec. 13, 2004, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid. As a child, she moved with her family to Oklahoma City.
