Funeral for Cathy Diane Large-Toehay, 60, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home with the Rev. Jan Ticeahkie and the Rev. Fred Ticeahkie officiating. Burial will follow at Post Oak Cemetery. Cathy went to her heavenly home Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, in Lawton. Prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Cathy was born Jan. 10, 1952, in Fort Washakie, Wyo., to Stanley and Margie (Leasie Aunquoe) Large Sr. She grew up, attended and graduated from Goodland Indian School in Hugo. Cathy also attended USAO in Chickasha studying business.
Helen was born to Josie Eula Smith and Cheadle Smith on April 15, 1920 in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Helen was raised by Josie Eula Rawlins and Philp A Rawlins in a household full of brothers and sisters in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Helen graduated from Ardmore High School, and then attended Oklahoma College for Women (now USAO) in Chickasha. Helen moved to Tulsa to begin her professional career as the Executive Assistant to the Division Attorney for Stanolind Oil & Gas. Helen took great pride in helping set the stage for women with careers.
Horace Arnett Pierce III June 3, 1984 - Aug. 8, 2012 Former Drover basketball player Horace Pierre, 28, died suddenly in the Bahamas on Aug. 8. Pierre played basketball from 2001-04 and graduated from the University of Science and Arts in 2006 with a degree in business. He was a kid with good character. He was just a really good person, Head Men’s Basketball Coach Brisco McPherson said. He got along well with everybody. I am saddened by the news of his passing. He will be missed by many. Funeral service for Zolene H. Bitsche, 91, former Chickasha resident, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2012 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home. Zolene H. Bitsche was born January 31, 1921 in Verden and died April 24, 2012 in Pinehurst, North Carolina. Zolene was a graduate of Chickasha High School and attended Oklahoma College for Women. She and George W. Bitsche were married January 29, 1943 in Las Cruces, New Mexico during World War II. They lived in New Mexico and El Paso, Texas returning to Chickasha after the War.

Virginia Ringgenberg ENID - Memorial service to celebrate the life of Virginia Ringgenberg will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2012, at Pond Creek United Methodist Church in Pond Creek, Okla. The Rev. Kay Buchanan will be officiating and the service will be under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home. Virginia Olive Ringgenberg was born March 3, 1922, in Omaha, Neb., to Elmer L. and Olive Hand Martin and passed peacefully on April 19, 2012. Due to the early passing of her mother, Virginia moved to Pond Creek, Okla., at age 6, to be raised by her Uncle Edward and Aunt Eldora Johnston.
Donations may be made to the Sequim Library in memory of Sequim resident Virginia A. Crumley, who died April 1, 2012, at the age of 91. She was born Nov. 15, 1920, in Eldorado, Kan., to Philip and Ethel Gliddon Newitt. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in history and English from Oklahoma College for Women and was a teacher and administrative assistant. She married Lewis Crumley on Aug. 21, 1943, in Easton, Pa. She lived in Colorado, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Florida and Texas before moving to Sequim. She also lived abroad in Venezuela, Mexico and New Zealand.
Funeral services will be held for Sally May Berton, 89, of Verden at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Verden with Roy Boyer officiating. Sally May Berton was born in Yoakum, Texas, on August 11, 1922, the daughter of Oscar A. Meyer & Julia Cecelia (May) Meyer. She died on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Chickasha. Sally grew up in the Corpus Christi area and graduated from high school there in 1939. She later attended Draughons Business College, Sul Ross State College in Alpine, Texas, and Daniel Baker College in Brownwood, Texas.
Funeral for Patricia K. Klein, 85, Lawton, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Willoughby officiating. Mrs. Klein died Thursday, April 19, 2012, in Lawton. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Becker Funeral Home & Cremation Service. She was born June 10, 1926, at Sweetwater to Lon and Pansy Latimer Kerrick. She married Vernon Klein Aug. 7, 1948 at Sayre. He preceded her in death May 20, 2007. She earned her bachelors degree from Oklahoma College form Women. She moved to Lawton in 1954.
Mattie Wilene Miller, 80, of Madill, Oklahoma, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at the Brookside Nursing Center in Madill. She was born on August 23, 1931 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Zeke Blevins and Mary Geree Reynolds Blevins. Wilene spent most of her life in Marshall County. She attended grade school at Aylesworth, graduated from Madill High School in 1949 before attending Oklahoma College for Women. Wilene worked for several law firms as a legal secretary and also for Halliburton Patent Department in Duncan, Oklahoma. She married Floyd Miller in 1957 in Madill.
