CHICKASHA – There’s no such thing as a bad time for a ghost story, or at least that’s what the Drama Club believes at the University of Science and Arts. On Jan. 26, the club will stage a readers theatre presentation of “To Gillian on her 37th Birthday.”

The play, written by Michael Brady, tells the story of a man and daughter who are trying to cope with the death of their wife and mother. To help the husband move on, the ghost of his wife appears throughout the story.

CHICKASHA – More than 275 students at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or greater during the fall 2006 semester and were named to the university’s honor rolls, USAO admissions officials have announced.

University records show 168 students were named to the USAO Honor Roll and 86 students were named to the Regents Honor Roll. Honor roll students represent seven countries and 13 states.

CHICKASHA – Ten artists from the University of Science and Arts recently were selected from more than 200 artists across Oklahoma to show their stuff at a competitive statewide art show.

“Momentum: Art Doesn’t Stand Still” is a juried art exhibit currently on display at Downtown Airpark in Oklahoma City through Jan. 26. Filled with colorful paintings, ornate sculptures, photography and more, the exhibit features six current USAO art students and four alums.

CHICKASHA – Every conflict needs resolution and behind every resolution is a mediator. To that end, the University of Science and Arts is hosting a free basic mediator training course Feb. 7-9 in the Emerson Room.

While focusing on the practical application and mastery of communication skills, the Early Settlement Mediation program also will touch on conflict and mediation theory. The training in Austin Hall 109 mostly will consist of role-play and interaction with others.
