CHICKASHA -Rebutting the often-gloomy attitudes fostered by a 24-hour news cycle, State Rep. Leslie Osborn invited graduates to invest themselves into Oklahoma’s bright future during the fall commencement ceremony at the University of Science and Arts.
“In my job, as part of the Oklahoma legislature,” Osborn noted, “I hear the same gloom and doom that you hear, every time I turn on the news or read a newspaper.
As an agriculturist, a small business owner and a mother, State Rep. Leslie Osborn has led a life filled with challenges that she met head on and overcame. On Dec. 10, Osborn is scheduled to deliver the commencement address to the Fall 2010 class of graduating seniors at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma and impart some of the wisdom from experience that got her where she is today.
Combined choirs from Grand and Lincoln Elementary Schools, Chickasha Middle School and the University of Science and Arts will present a holiday choral concert on Sunday at 3 p.m. The choirs will perform a variety of holiday songs including traditional carols, songs from films and musicals as well as multicultural songs.
