New Sculpture Installed at Nash Library
USAO welcomed international artist Archie Held to the campus April 4 during the installation of a new bronze sculpture in front of Nash Library. Titled 'Flight,' Held's large bird-like sculpture is inspired by Oklahoma's state bird, the wide-open possibilities of life after college and the artwork of Native American artist Acee Blue Eagle, who painted murals in 1935 on the walls of the original gymnasium building on campus. An official dedication ceremony is scheduled for May 16 when USAO celebrates Founder's Day as part of its centennial celebration. From left are USAO President John Feaver, Archie Held and Julie Bohannon, director of alumni development and centennial chairperson.
