USAO Class Takes Historical Lewis and Clark Trek
CHICKASHA – Historical sojourners Lewis and Clark are making a Chickasha appearance in the form of a special presentation Dec. 7 at the University of Science and Arts. From 1-2:30 p.m., the public is invited to take part in the free festivities in Nash Library on 17th Street.
Dr. Nancy Osborn, associate professor of physical education, teaches the Return of Lewis and Clark class that puts on the production each year.
“This is actually an exhibition of projects done by the students,” said Osborn. “They have put quite a lot of effort into these projects.”
Visitors will be led back in time for a look at how the famous exploring duo made their historic journeys across what eventually became the United States. Presentations include canoe making, expedition foods, tipi construction and Native American weapons and jewelry.
Refreshments will be provided.
