Audrey Knight Pratt

Pratt, Kan. Audrey "Jean" Knight, age 86, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt. She was born Oct. 3, 1927 in Larned, the daughter of William and Fannie (Neathery) Clark. Jean graduated from Pratt High School in 1945. She attended Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Oklahoma, and then transferred to Pratt Community Junior College. On Sept. 28, 1947, Jean married the love of her life and fellow classmate, James Knight Jr. in Pratt. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage, and were inseparable. Jean was a devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker and always enjoyed being involved with her children's and grandchildren's activities. She enjoyed numerous family outings. She was an avid seamstress and quilter and her "Encircle Tulip" quilt was awarded Viewer's Choice by the Pratt Area Quilt Guild. Her family has numerous quilted, crocheted, knitted, and tatted keepsakes. Together Jim and Jean enjoyed horseback riding and the Pratt Saddle Club; and many years of camping with the Fireliters campers. In later years they enjoyed many unforgettable trips in their motorhome, often traveling with and/or visiting family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband Jim; one son, Doug and wife Kay Knight of Pratt; two daughters, Gail and husband Richard Sahlfeld of Prairie Village, and Debi and husband Marty Casey of Bella Vista, Ark. Two grandchildren, Kris and wife Wendy Knight of Mount Vernon, Wash., and Kylea and husband Paul Anders of Wichita; and one great grandson, Bryson Knight, also survive. Private family memorial service will be held at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. Family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorials may be made to South Wind Hospice or the First Christian Church of Pratt in care of Larrison Mortuary.
