COWLEY, Eura B. (Lockhart)

A graveside service for Eura B. Cowley, 94, of Enid, will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 in the Del Norte Cemetery, Drummond. The Rev. Bill Smith will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of Henninger-Allen Funeral Home.

She was born March 8, 1911 on a farm in Major County to D. Wade and Sarah Goldsberry Lockhart and passed away March 10, 2005, in St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She attended grade school at Oak Glade Country School for seven years before her family moved to Drummond. She graduated from Drummond High School in 1929. She then attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha.

On August 9, 1941 she married John Kirby Cowley at El Reno. They moved to Enid for two years before moving to Drummond where they lived for 45 years. John passed away on August 11, 1988 and she lived in Drummond until moving to Enid in November of 1990.

She was a member of the Puritan Congregational Church of Christ, where she served on the Women s Organization. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and hard work.

She is survived by her son Troy R. Cowley and wife Marcia of Enid; two granddaughters, Heather Pirtle and husband Jeff and their children Elizabeth and Ashtyn of Edmond, and Kristy Pasby and husband Brad and their daughter Paden of Enid; a niece LaDonna Poindexter; nephews, Mike and Jim Cowley; several cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and four brothers, Bill, Jesse, Clyde, and Ross.

Memorials may be made through Henninger-Allen Funeral Home to the Del Norte Cemetery or to the charity of one s choice."
