EILEEN DUNN Oct. 27, 1922 - Jan. 26, 2014 OKLAHOMA CITY To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Eileen Dunn, 91, went to her heavenly home on January 26, 2014 in Tampa, Fla. after a short illness. She was born October 27, 1922 to Margaret and Carlo Carletti in Krebs, Okla. The family lived in Haileyville, Okla. where Eileen graduated from high school in 1940 as Valedictorian. Eileen then attended OCW (Okla. College for Women) majoring in Physical Education with a BS degree. In May of 1943 she married Ensign John H. Fezler from Oklahoma City. He didn't return from WWII and was Missing In Action. Eileen was given a full scholarship to attend Colorado College in 1945 to study modern dance. She also had several teaching assignments during WWII. Her favorite was a 2 room schoolhouse teaching 4 grades. In 1945 she headed the Physical Education Department at Webster High School in Tulsa. Next she directed the PE Dept. at OCW and became the first Social Director there. The love of her life, William A. Dunn, found her at OCW. On December 29, 1946 they were married. They lived in Enid, Lawton, Muskogee, and Oklahoma City during their 65 years together. The last 45 years in OKC were quite active. They belonged to Crown Heights United Methodist Church, Regency and Revelers Dance Club, Mayfair Dance and Sundowners. Eileen was a member of PEO, Republican Women, Redbud Club, Orchestra League and Clubettes. While in Muskogee, she was 1st runner up in the Mrs. Oklahoma Contest. Eileen and Bill loved to travel. They visited all 50 states except for the Dakotas. They crossed the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans 18 times and visited 5 continents. One of their favorite trips was an Alaskan Cruise where they hosted their whole family. Eileen is survived by daughter Ann Wooley of Tampa, Florida and Robert E Dunn of Valleyview, Texas. Her grandchildren are Jana W. Flowers and Alexander J Wooley of Tampa, Florida. Her three great-grandchildren are Emma Ruth, Noah Wade and Lila Elizabeth Flowers of Tampa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, Jan. 30, at Crown Heights United Methodist Church (NW 37th & Western). In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Crown Heights UMC.
