Rush Springs: Phillip Steve Frick, 59, passed away Monday, February 13, 2012 at his home in Rush Springs. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 17, 2012, at the Vimy Ridge Baptist Church, with David Hale officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.

 

Steve was born Wednesday, May 7, 1952 in Chickasha, to Walter Frick and Bertha (Bentley) Frick. Steve lived in the Rush Springs area all of his life. He graduated from Rush Springs High School and later attended USAO in Chickasha. He worked as a pumper for M.E. Klein. Steve's passion was rodeo stock. He and his secretary are no doubt conducting a rodeo in the sky with the many great cowboys and bulls who have gone before him.

 

Survivors include, three sons, Lynn Frick and wife Stephanie of Rush Springs, Phillip Frick of Yukon, Shawn Frick and wife Billie of Hannabal, MO; daughter, Amber Derk and husband Gary of Shawnee; 17 grandchildren; mother, Bertha Frick of Rush Springs; brother, Dwight Frick and wife Donna of Marlow; sister, Carol Floyd and husband Jerry of Norman; several nieces and nephews. Steve was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Jerry Hargus. Pallbearers will be his lifelong friends and fellow cowboys: Phil Estes, Lonnie Daniels, David Byers, Dicky Miller, Earl Gardner and Johnnie Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be: Fred Fitzgerald, Tony Day, Tim Beard, Scott Nichols and Chris Foster.
