Alice Louise (Leonard) Lyne, age 84, passed away Sat., Dec. 5, 2009. She was born Jan. 30, 1925. Louise grew up in Oklahoma City, graduated from Capitol Hill High School in 1942 and attended Oklahoma College for Women, Chickasha.

In 1943 she joined the Army Cadet Nurse Corps and received nurse's training at Oklahoma City General Hospital (later Mercy Hospital), graduating in 1946.

For many years she took much pleasure from a monthly luncheon with eight of the nurses from her graduating class. Louise practiced nursing at Mercy and Deaconess Hospitals, specializing in newborn infant care.

She enjoyed retreats at the family cabin on Lake Murray with her parents and children. Her four grandchildren were a constant source of amusement and delight.

Louise was a longtime member of Putnam City Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Bryan Leonard; her mother, Edna Leonard; and her daughter, Paula Sue Lyne Day, for whom Louise provided tender care in the years prior to Paula's passing.

Louise is survived by John Lyne, her husband of 61 years; her son, Gerald Lyne of Shelby Township, MI; son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Michelle Lyne of OKC; and grandchildren: Dirk Day of Alpharetta, GA; Savannah Lyne, Carson Lyne and Macormick "Corey" Lyne of OKC. Viewing will be Tues., 9am-9pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be Wed., Dec. 9, 2:00 pm at Mercer-Adams Chapel. Private interment at Memorial Park.
